Established by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS.org) — BRA Day was created to help raise awareness and educate women about their breast reconstruction options post-mastectomy.  According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is the most common cancer among U.S. women after skin cancer — accounting for nearly 1 in 3 cases. (1)

  • For those women diagnosed with breast cancer and in need of a mastectomy, approximately 7 out of 10 are not aware of their breast reconstruction options.

  • As a result, less than 1 in 5 American women who undergo a mastectomy go on to have breast reconstruction. (2)
